Set up automatic Blackboard class joining at the University of Jeddah
This guide is for University of Jeddah students who attend live Blackboard Collaborate classes and want 3NK to open them on time, automatically. UJ is the university 3NK fully supports today.
What was verified at UJ
Between 18 and 22 October 2026 the 3NK app sent compatibility reports from two computers with real UJ student accounts, and all four steps passed:
- Signing in to lms.uj.edu.sa through the university's sign-in page sts.uj.edu.sa, automatically with a saved password or yourself in 3NK's window.
- Reading all your current courses (30 of 30 on one account).
- Finding the live session on the course page at class time.
- Joining the class and confirming it was in the room.

Before you start
- A computer with Windows 10 or 11, macOS 13 or later, or Linux (beta).
- Your university email ending in @uj.edu.sa, for the free trial.
- Your Blackboard username and password.
Set it up, step by step
- Create an account on 3NK with any email, then confirm it from the link you receive.
- Link your university email: in your account, choose the University of Jeddah and enter your @uj.edu.sa address. You get a 6-digit code that works for 5 minutes. Each university mailbox gets one trial.
- Start the free trial: 7 days on one computer, no card. Your license key is shown once, so copy it and keep it.
- Download and install the app from the download page, then enter the key in the setup wizard.
- Choose the University of Jeddah and sign in to Blackboard. You can save your password so 3NK signs in automatically; it is kept in your computer's secure credential store and never reaches us. Or sign in yourself in 3NK's window whenever the session ends.
- Import your courses: 3NK reads the "Current Courses" list on Blackboard's Courses page, and you pick the ones you want.
- Add your class times: by hand, or on the Schedule page with "Import Schedule from UJ Banner", which reads your registered sections and their times from Banner after you sign in yourself. It only reads: 3NK never registers or drops a course at the university, and you review every change before it's added.
- Turn on "Join automatically" for the times you want (times imported from Banner start with it off), and leave your computer on and online at class time.
What happens at class time
3NK opens the course a few minutes early, waits for the instructor to start the live session, joins, and stays until the end time you chose. It says "joined" only once it recognises the class room, and it rejoins if your connection drops. Every status is explained in how automatic Blackboard class joining works.
Limits to know
- Being in the class isn't the same as being counted present: that's up to your university and instructor.
- Your computer has to be on, awake and online at class time.
- If the university changes its sign-in or Blackboard's pages, 3NK may stop working until we adapt; the refund policy says what you're entitled to then.
- 3NK is independent: it isn't affiliated with the University of Jeddah or Blackboard.
